About Us

Hi! I'm so glad you stopped by to see what we're all about. I'm Lauren, a Fort Collins native. I've always been a big animal lover which is one of the reasons why homesteading is perfect for me. My husband and I have five dairy goats, twelve chickens, a dog and a cat.... for now. My love for animals however is not the only reason that I became interested in homesteading. The major reason was for health purposes. I struggled for years with health and skin problems and my struggles led me to desire a closeness to where my food comes from. Seven years ago I decided I wanted to take a step closer to my food and bought my first two Nigerian Dwarf Milk Goats, Sugar Plum Pie and Totes Mah Goat. I also began gardening and have since become a student of Regenerative Gardening practices and strive to grow food in a beneficial way for the land and our health. I am always learning and love to be outside with my animals and be creative in the garden. I believe when we put genuine care and love into our food it helps heal not only our bodies, but also benefits the land and impacts the communities we live in. Come share this journey with us here at Pasture Land!

My husband Gavin is a tradesman and a musician from Texas. We romantically met on the corner of College and Mountain while he was busking to support his travels. Our mutual love for God and similarities made us instant best friends. We got married five years later and are now pursuing our homesteading dreams together. He loves chickens but isn't so sure about the goats....yet.
